come say hello!

My name is Lauren. When I was just a wee lass, I was in day care and one of the little boys couldn’t say my name. He called me Lolo and my parents thought it was the cutest thing. 30 years later and the nickname has definitely stuck. I can’t remember the last time anyone in my family called me Lauren. With most of my friends, acquaintances, and coworkers, I’m Lauren. But if you really know me, it’s Lo. So, here I invite you into my intimate circle.

I live just outside of Washington DC, in Arlington, VA, with my husband Daniel. He is the love of my life, my best friend, and the best thing that has ever happened to me. We got married on June 4, 2011 in a park and I wore a dress with pockets. It was a perfect day. Each day gets better and better with him. Some days we look at each other and exclaim, “We’re married!” Like we still can’t believe we get to be this blessed.

We absolutely love living (practically) in the city. Daniel just started grad school, so we decided to save our pennies and live in Arlington rather than live in a hole in DC for twice the price. We LOVE that city, but man is it expensive. We’re so happy in our little micro urban neighborhood, just a couple miles outside the city. It’s just a hop, skip, and a jump to all of our favorite places.

I started this blog as a way to just get my words out. Share my life, my desires, my projects, my goals, my ups and downs, my struggles, my joys, and all my little trivial moments. I hope you enjoy!
